Become a Consumer Representative
One of Arthritis Victoria's priority commitments is consumer participation and in late 2004 AV established its first Consumer Advisory Committee (CAC).
The CAC is a committee of the Board and is chaired by Noel Smith, a Board member and volunteer with the Community Speakers Program. He is also a volunteer leader in our warm water exercise program (WAVES).
Since its establishment, the CAC has been fortunate to have had representation from many of its volunteer program areas as well as the self help groups.
Arthritis Victoria is also hopeful that many of our members/consumers will wish to be trained to enable them to be on high level government committees to discuss issues which are important to people with musculoskeletal conditions. Being a member of the CAC at AV is a good start.
New members are now being sought and we are especially looking for people with a commitment to the future development of the organisation and an interest in improving the lives of people with musculoskeletal conditions.
If you are interested in joining the CAC please contact Lynette Deakes, Executive Assistant on 8531 8002 or by email at lynette.deakes@arthritisvic.org.au.
Closing date for expressions of interest is Monday 1 February 2010.
